Insul Fish Van Information

In the heyday of North Sea fisheries more than 2,000 tons of wet fish were transported daily on the railway network. Insul-fish vans were adapted from standard wooden construction with the addition of thermal insulation behind aluminium interior walls. The interior and exterior were painted white.

The Blue Spot wagons were fitted with roller bearings to allow high-speed travel down the East Coast lines to the Southern markets.
