Class 50 Hoover Specification

Dimensions:

Traction:

• Battery/Electric - 24volts DC with four 150watt PMDC motors (batteries are not supplied with a kit)
• Control 180 amp iDrive digital controller
• Hand held control unit connected to loco by single cable
• Mechanical Welded 3mm steel chassis has integral battery tray and is powder coated in black. Bogies 3mm laser cut steel with integral suspension. CNC axles and wheels.
• Bogie detailing is machined aluminium beam with lost wax cast brass and etched nickel detailing parts. Bogies are supplied built, wired and tested.

Body:

• Body is a one piece composite (GRP) moulding with chemically etched window frames and acrylic windows. Grilles are separate polyurethane mouldings as are the interior bulkheads, driving desks and seats.
• White metal kit for interior detailing and lost wax brass and etched nickel for exterior detailing.

Safety:

• Loco will stop if handset is disconnected. Loco will stop if handset lead is severed. Loco will not proceed if it detects a fault. Fault can be rectified and system reset.
• Controller will recheck system and operate normally when fault is cleared

Kit components:

NB. Kits will vary depending on specification ordered. The following specification is for a standard powered kit.

• Chassis assembled, welded and black powder coated. Wiring loom assembled and fitted with 180 amp Digital motor speed controller, fuses and battery connections fitted.
• Steel front and rear buffer beam fabrications, with clevis drawbar pin.
• Remote hand controller with rotary throttle, Deadmans facility, switches for forward and reverse, horns and auxiliary.
• Bogies assembled and wired.
• Bogie detailing parts, milled from solid aluminium side beams with additional brake detailing.
• GRP body moulding with lost wax brass detailing kit and separate polyurethane grilles.
• Acrylic window material with etched nickel window frames.
• Roof grilles.
• 50 page illustrated build manual.
• All fasteners.
• Approximately40-60hours assembly for loco (excluding painting).
