What gauge is the Y6 Tram?

The Y6 Tram can be supplied in both 5" or 7¼" gauge.

How do you control the loco?

You ride behind the loco with a remote handset, which has a remote handset with a rotary power control and forward/reverse selector along with a switch for horns and other accessories, The handset is connected to the Loco by a 1metre lead. This allows you to adopt a comfortable and safe driving position on the riding car.

How many batteries will I need?

Two, the loco has a 24volt power system; we recommend two 12volt batteries with minimum of 40Ah rating.

How long will they last on one run?

Depending on track conditions, number of passengers etc. We designed the loco to be able to do 3-4 hours on an average track with 4-6 passengers.

How long does it take to re-charge the batteries?

Generally around 3hours will bring your batteries back to full charge

Can I fit bigger batteries and run for longer?

Yes, the loco will take batteries up to 125AH which will give you the ability to run all day Saturday and most of Sunday too!

We have a garden railway will a Y6 tram be suitable for a smaller railway?

The loco will negotiate 11ft radius curves and its compact size makes storage easy.
