Coaching Stock.
It has been our ambition for some time to produce a range of coaches with a high degree of detail to match our locomotive fleet, so that a Phoenix "standard" train could become a reality. Sometimes I think that our fleet has been the subject of more discussion than the original British Railways Mark I coach was within the Carriage Standards Committee of 1946. They in effect designed a series of standard coaches that made use of the C1 Outline to maximise capacity and comfort. They were briefed, within a limited austerity budget, to provide replacements for the run down post war stocks of the constituent companies. We too have worked with a budget but ours has been designed to produce the highest possible standards at an affordable price. We are therefore proud to present the first of our "rake" of coaches.
The Phoenix Tourist Second Open (TSO)
- Currently available in 5" only but 7¼" gauge models will follow
- Laser cut and welded chassis based closely on the prototype design
- Scale wheels in EN8 steel
- CNC axles with roller bearings.
- Articulated bogie based on the proven Commonwealth design.

The Phoenix Standard TSO 5" Kit
This will give you a basic running, all steel coach but we haven’t stopped there, as you would expect from a manufacturer who takes the trouble to include full cab details in its locomotives we have produced a wealth of exterior and interior detail.
We have also introduced an interior kit and a wealth of additional exterior detailing item for the scale enthusiast.

We are however proud to have brought to the market a package that matches or exceeds the best models currently available but that give you, our customer, a choice of options. You can experience the basic model first and then add detail to it, possibly at a later stage, until you reach the level of excellence that you want. Whatever options you choose we have also ensured short delivery times.
The Phoenix range of scale coaches has been two years of development and prototyping not just to ensure accuracy and authenticity, but also to guarantee availability.
