Y6 Tram Locomotive. The Prototype.
The original tram locomotive of the GER’s Wisbech and Upwell Tramway was an 0-4-0 steam engine, however Tramway regulations required that the locomotive shouldn't distress animals. The loco's when built then, were clad in what looked like a variation of a Guards van and fitted with condensing gear and speed governors. This design lends its self very well to a scale electric traction version.
Our Model is based on the proven chassis and drive system of the "Phoenix" "Hesketh" and is a very substantial 7.25" gauge engine.

A very big feature of the Phoenix Y6 is the pre-cut body shell. We have the body panels made from Birch Plywood, which is precision cut to our specification.
This means that the body is highly detailed with the planking etched into each panel and can be slotted together in minutes. Additional detailing is provided with separate window frames, back panels and panel framing. We have also included a replica of the steam loco back-head and smoke-box.
This means you can build your own Y6 in days rather than months.
