The Class 24 Locomotive was introduced in the late 1950’s as the BR Type 2 Diesel and was later designated Class 24. The Class became the most numerous of all BR main line diesels and eventually had 478 examples.
The Phoenix Class 24 is based on the early examples that all wore the classic Green livery of early diesels. We have included the indicator discs in the kit which add to the character and place the loco firmly in the early diesel era.
Modellers and enthusiast will see the additional potential to add different detailing and even roof top indicator boxes to model the later Class 25 variants.
The kit features a one piece GRP bodyshell along with two sheets of etched nickel parts for detailing the grilles and window frames. Roof detailing and fan grilles are also included.
The bogies are the same as fitted to our Titan 5 Loco and feature the same power as the Class 50 and Class 52 locos. Laser cut steel detailing is supplied to capture the character and look of the Type 2 bogie.
A digital control system with on-board diagnostics is supplied pre-wired and a comprehensive illustrated build manual is supplied to take you through the easy-build process.
