Traction

Battery/Electric - 24volts DC with four 150watt PMDC motors.
All axles are driven.
Batteries are not supplied with a kit.
Control 180 amp iDrive digital motor speed controller with speed limiting and controller isolation switches and LED read out for battery condition and diagnostics.
Hand held control unit connected to loco by single cable

Mechanical

Folded 3mm steel chassis with external chassis detailing. 1.6mm all steel, laser cut body panels.
6mm steel buffer and drag beams.
Bogies 3mm laser cut steel with integral primary suspension.
CNC wheels and axles.
Bogie detailing panels with springs.
Bogies are supplied built, wired and tested.

Safety

Deadmans wrist loop on handset.
Loco will stop if the loop is pulled out.
Loco will stop if handset is disconnected.
Loco will stop if handset lead is severed.
Loco will not proceed if it detects a fault.
Fault can be rectified and system reset.
Controller will recheck system and operate normally when fault is cleared.
The throttle must be at zero when power is connected.
Loco will not operate until throttle is re-set to zero.
This safety feature will prevent inadvertent movement when batteries are connected.

Finish

All panels are powder coated in an industrial finish to replicate as closely as possible the National Power or the current (2014) two tone green livery. Yellow panels are supplied as vinyl overlays.

Detailing

Decal sets for National Power livery comprising name and works plates, NP logo and lining.
Ffestiniog Railway coat of arms.
Vents and grilles.
Red Welsh Dragon.
The alternative two tone green livery can also be supplied for an extra £30.
Driving desks for front and rear cabs are supplied with a printed vinyl overlay to replicate dials and switches.
Laser cut steel cab steps and dummy fuel/oil tanks.
